FAQs

Q: Are Wind River's auctions live, silent or online?

Answer: Most of our auctions are live and must be attended in person. However, we will occasionally, as circumstances arise, have online auctions. Unless otherwise indicated on our website or marketing materials, the auctions will be live only.

Q: What type of payments are accepted by Wind River?

Answer: We accept the following methods of payment: Cash, cashier's check, credit card (3% convenience charge in addition to amount charged), debit card (PIN # required).

Q: Are Wind River Auctions open to the public?

Answer: Yes; we make all of our auctions open to the public. We believe a well attended event is a successful event. We welcome anyone.

Q: Do I need to register to bid at a Wind River auction?

Answer: Yes; all bidders must first register to bid. They must provide photo ID and may be required to provide a minimum deposit and proof or cash or a credit or debit card. Bidders may be required to provide certified funds or bank letter of credit for purchases over a minimum amount, typically $5,000.

Q: How long do I have to pay for an item I purchase at auction?

Answer: Once you have successfully bid on an item, you must leave a $300 deposit for that item (or per item if more than one). The deposit is applied to the purchase. All items must be purchased in full in cash or cash equivalents (certified funds or credit card, etc.) by no later than 4 p.m. on the day of sale. If you fail to make full payment by the payment date, the deposit is non-refundable. We do not provide financing nor do we sell anything that is subject to financing approval.

Q: Will I incur any fees in addition to my bid price?

Answer: Yes; you may incur a buyer's fee or fees for title fee, sales tax and the like.

Q: Is there a minimum or starting bid for each item at a Wind River auction?

Answer: Typically there will be no minimum starting bid on auction items, unless otherwise indicated on our website or the auctioneer. Generally, our auctioneer will begin with a suggested beginning bid, and reduce that bid until he receives his first bid from a prospective buyer. The auctioneer will then continue to ask for higher bids until there are no more bids. Each item is sold to the highest qualified bidder. However, the rules may vary from time to time depending on the particular auction. All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over any and all printed material. GENERALLY, ALL OF OUR AUCTIONS ARE "ABSOLUTE," MEANING THAT ALL ITEMS WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER REGARDLESS OF PRICE.
